IBM Implementation Services - for Tivoli Storage Manager

IBM Implementation Services provides installation of a basic Tivoli Storage Manager configuration and helps plan for future IT needs. This service also includes a cohesive, cost-effective data recovery strategy regardless of availability requirements, types of data and applications. The service is delivered in two phases:

  • Phase one provides an in-depth review of your IT environment and installation of the Tivoli Storage Manager server and two clients. A documentation record is provided to help evaluate technical readiness of staff.
  • Phase two consists of a five-day engagement at your site to help customize and implement storage policies for your environment. This includes new recovery procedures, customizing the Tivoli Storage Manager server, technical overview of Tivoli Storage Manager, utilities and reporting techniques in a TSM environment and explanation of Tivoli Storage Manager parameters and policies.

IBM Implementation Services - for Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition

The Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition service includes all the activities included in our base Tivoli Storage Manager services plus a three-day workshop and the implementation of Disaster Recovery Manager (DRM). Tivoli Storage Manager EE provides the DRM to better manage an off-site tape storage library. IBM has extensive experience facilitating disaster recovery plans and utilizing DRM to accomplish a sound disaster recovery plan. This offering can be tailored to meet the needs of your most complex backup and recovery needs.
IBM Implementation Services - for Tivoli Storage Manager for Advanced Copy Services

Tivoli Storage Manager for Advanced Copy services configures Tivoli Storage Manager to utilize the Enterprise Storage Server FlashCcopy feature for backing up either a DB2 or Oracle database. Production databases residing on the ESS frequently require 24-hour availability making backup opportunities difficult to schedule. Taking advantage of the Flashcopy feature allows non disruptive backups to occur during regularly scheduled operations. This service provides the following activities:

  • Enabling Tivoli Storage Manager to utilize IBM FlashCopy volumes
  • Guidance on how to optimize your backup operations schedules
  • Training of key personnel on how to expand this function
IBM Implementation Services - for Tivoli Storage Manager for mail

Tivoli Storage Manager for mail services creates a backup for Lotus® Domino™ or Microsoft Exchange mail files. Since electronic mail systems are the foundation of many of the world's largest businesses, e-mail systems are business critical and need to be protected with backup copies to protect users in case of machine or disk failures. A Tivoli associate specialist will develop a plan to protect business critical applications and provide educational material for training to help back up e-mail system effectively.
IBM Implementation Services - for Tivoli Storage Manager for databases

Database systems store information in a proprietary format using pointers to link the fields together. Tivoli Storage Manager for database services implements the option to extract this information to create a backup copy in case the database is destroyed. An Tivoli Associate services specialist can implement this feature to back up production for Oracle databases.
