Tivoli Associates, an independently owned and operated company with corporate offices in Austin, TX, was founded by Ross Battaglia in 1999 to continue development, support, and services of Tivoli Storage Manager after IBM purchased Tivoli Systems. Starting from TSM 7.1.2, IBM® has changed the name from IBM Tivoli Storage Manager to IBM Spectrum Protect which is one of the modules of IBM Spectrum Storage.

IBM has granted Tivoli Associates, Inc. a direct Tier One relationship to provide services, support, and development on IBM® Spectrum Protect™, formerly Tivoli® Storage Manager. IBM utilizes our extensive experience for their Subject Matter Experts on TSM to write and develop Tivoli Storage Certification exams, training documentation, code development and quality assurance testing before product launches and we are the leading expert resource for IBM on IBM® Spectrum Protect™, worldwide.

In 2003, due to growth and extended business requirements with IBM and the IBM Customers, Tivoli Associates began development of their own proprietary software,TSMManager, and expanded from IBM-only software to establishing partnerships with leading edge independent software corporations involved in the areas of storage and Big Data management, data movement, replication, transparency and analytics.
